One of my entries for the All Yesterdays Contest [link].
As its modern relatives (extant squamates, like lizards and snakes), this mosasaur is shown molting its skin. Also, like modern lizards, it's eating the dead skin, for nutrients. It isn't too speculative, being even very plausible, but is totally inexplored in paleoart.

This does seem plausible since it was a squamate.
But do sea kraits molt skin? If not then mosasaurs may not be able to as well because of their aquatic environment.
